What was the last movie you've seen?

I'm planning to see it, hopefully within the week.

It's definitely worth seeing. Especially if you like Ghibli movies. Like a lot of Miyazaki movies it has a real air of calm, even during the more action oriented scenes. There's a real emphasis on nature, though it's not part of the plot and there's a splash of magic, adventure, and humor thrown in for good measure. Oh, and it's got a great dub. But that's to be expected from a film presented by Disney. Plus, Carol Burnett does the voice of the semi-protagonist. What's not to love? To me it felt like a combination of Totoro and a milder Spirited Away. I'ma get it when it's released

And Howl's is good, isn't it? I find it really hard to rank Ghibli films, just like I find it hard to rank Pixar films, but for me Howl's is definitely near the top of the list.

50/50

As a film, it's pretty great. But I have personal hangups about the movie, and I wouldn't want to watch it again. It's wonderfully written, the characters are great, the acting is superb, but I had absolutely no connection with the movie. "I'm peeing right now" was brilliant, and there certainly other parts of the movie that were great and super efficient, but for me, nothing ever clicked.

Saw two movies last night.

RoboCop
I expected this one to be great, and it was. It was cool, cheesy, and violent, just the way I like it.

A Fish Named Wanda
Didn't like this one too well. It had funny moments, but for the most part it was raunchy and lame. Won't watch again.

RoboCop rocks! I love the little commercials that are in it. And who knew Red Foreman could be such a sadistic bastard!

Those little touches make a difference. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Fritz the Cat, from 1972.

An animated political satire of the 60's era. Going from psychadelia hippies, to sex, to harlem. Fritz is somewhat well known, causing revolutionary outbursts and laying him many a woman. A very funny and disturbing little film. Highly recommended to folks that like this sort of thing.

It instant streams on Netflix, or you could just watch it right now:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Great movie. Weird, funny, and it's got Johnny Depp's acting in it. Now to read the book.

"Bitches, Leave" is one of the best line deliveries recorded on film.
