That's odd... I consider my consoles "stupid/easy fun" compared to my PC, which for whatever reason often feels like a chore to play games on. And I find motion controls a chore too, so I've yet to buy a Wii after being turned off by my family's (though I'm sure I will eventually)Weekend_Warrior wrote:The PS3 and 360 both kick ass when it comes to graphics and online. But when it comes to... forgive me for saying this... "stupid/easy fun games," it was kinda nice having a console like the Wii out there that catered heavily to that sort of demographic. It broke up the monotony of all the big budget, complex shooting games that the other two consoles flooded the market with.

I found this statement humorous. You borrowed someone else's system and game, then downloaded a pirated copy. I suspect no one at Nintendo would take your comments that "seriously".indecks wrote:Seriously Nintendo, I wanted to play your game. I really did.

I got a Wii for my birthday back in like....'08 or somethin. I sold it maybe a few months later to get my PS3 which I still play and love. After the N64 I just don't see the appeal in these Nintendo consoles. I actually owned my DS longer than I owned a Wii, and even that wasn't for very long. The motion control thing is a total scam and fad, it'll hopefully die out within the next couple years.

Wii resurrected the Lightgun for the HDTV
A form of game play that might have been lost for good if it were not for the Wii. At first I didn't care for Motion Controls either. But when utilized in certain games it really is the best way to play. Remember when Lightgun games would no longer work years ago when HDTVs came out? The Wii provided an easy solution with the Remote and House Of The Dead. This followed with a discovery of FPS games actually working so much better for precise aiming over an Analog stick. Microsoft and Sony took notice and followed with their versions of motion controls. Now every new FPS has the "Lightgun" feature as an option.
I still don't care for the waggle but I am spoiled by the "Remote Lightgun". Imagine if the game REZ could be played with the instant point to the screen and shoot. For the XBox HD version of that game, 360 owners might see a patch one day.

Seriously having a hard time discerning how much of this thread is silly trolling/sarcasm and how much is actual complaint... guessing more the former than latter due to how foolish the arguments are, but you never know.
The return of light gun games is awesome, and I'm also thankful that Wii has offered multiple good Rogue-likes to play this generation along with a stable of great platformers. The console is far from perfect, but has a bunch of games that simply aren't available (and until the Wii controls were copied fairly recently, sometimes weren't possible) elsewhere.
Oops... this is the "Wii is crap" thread. What I meant to say is:
What a piece of junk. Nintendo is doomed if they keep putting out this kiddie crap that only losers want to play. Also the console doesn't work and motion controls are for babies.
