Everyone knows wood is the 11th Valentine's Anniversary. This isn't a new trend.

Good to know. I thought wood was the third Valentine's Day Anniversary gift. Guess I should get a refund for that salad bowl I bought her.

Received a card from my Grandparents in-law...which was full of glitter. I guess their gift to me was the chore of vacuuming for hours on end.

We're going out for pizza tonight. Yes, this is what she asked for.

I would recommend that you don't spend a lot of money on a new table if you plan to have kids. That table will get abused by them. My nice cherry table has water marks, magic marker, and other damage from them. The table will need to be refinished.

I'm almost the opposite. Kitchen table, different story. But with the dining room table I don't mind dropping coin for something that will last for the rest of my natural life.

Like Luke, I was up late cleaning the house all spic 'n span. My wife appreciates a home that while functional, still sparkles. The pregnant nesting thing really amplifies this effect. She's always a good sport though.

This evening won't be magical or anything. I'll be working on the nursery as per the norm, and we're departing for our third weekly pregnancy class as soon as she gets home from work.

It's all good. :)

Kitchen table should be able to be destroyed/replaced. This is why when I buy a new one, I am getting a rectangle one that I can easily cut a piece of wood or marker board for the top. That way, when it gets destroyed, I can just take it off and get a new one - no more round tables for me. Atleast not primary tables

We've got 4 kids and have had our dining table for 10 years - we purposely bought it rustic / distressed and any marks or nicks in it are indistinguishable to, well, everyone - I have no idea what is our damage and was done on purpose. It literally looks like it did the day we bought it.

I can't believe I might have to go home and take pics of my dining room table.
