Sounds like a grounding issuedarthmunky wrote:Okay, I opened it up again to try some things. It worked perfectly when the motherboard was taken out of the case. After some troubleshooting, I put the motherboard back in without the metal casing under it and it worked. How important is this metal sheet?

I don't think it would hurt to leave it out. I had to take the metal plate out of my first 32x to keep it from being loud as hell.darthmunky wrote:Okay, I opened it up again to try some things. You might get a little bit of interference in other devices if they aren't shielded properly or you have crappy cables near it. Otherwise it shouldn't be a huge deal.darthmunky wrote:Okay, I opened it up again to try some things. It worked perfectly when the motherboard was taken out of the case. Apparently sometimes they make a really high pitched buzzing sound and mine did that. I took it apart and took of the metal shield thingy and it no longer made the noise. I guess it's an interefence thing.

Ah you mean through the TV. I was thinking from the unit itself. Odd that the shielding would increase interference unless it was touching something it shouldn't have been.harper wrote: Apparently sometimes they make a really high pitched buzzing sound and mine did that.
