I guess I can understand that view, but when dark, scary Batman has a sidekick running around in bright colors and naming himself after a song bird, it makes Batgirl look pretty cool in comparison. I always liked that about her. Even back on the old Adam West show, she always seemed cooler than RobinBoringSupreez wrote: Coincidentally, I've always hated Batgirl. Original female comic characters, like Wonder Woman or Cat Woman, are always better than girl versions of popular male superheroes.
I think they did a good job making Batgirl stand out with the Oracle thing and Birds of Prey. Supergirl on the other hand has always just seemed like Superman with boobs to me though
Catwoman just doesn't appeal to me because she always seems more like the product of a marketing meeting than an actual character. Plus, she's kind of a stereotype now. The cool, sexy, female thief. I've seen that character in so many shows. They had one on Supernatural, one on Doctor Who. They're always seem like the same character type. Bragging about their thieving skills, using sex appeal to get what they want. Course, maybe Catwoman was the first. I don't know, but she doesn't seem to stand out much now
Oddly enough, I loved Tim Burton's Catwoman. She seemed to have a real reason for putting on the costume and seemed more like Bruce than any other version of her I've seen. She was on a vengeance quest driven by a tragic incident. She wasn't just thieving and wearing a costume because it's fun. The difference between her and Batman was that she was willing to kill. Plus, Pfeiffer was just awesome. Sorry, Halle Berrie
