Make a simple LED, case solved.

Post by benderx »

I remember back before the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film/ LED raid.
there was a link on Digg.com a few years back on how to make a very simple LED that doesn't last that long. This is not for video game purposes more of a small art project. I want to make a very small LED light up for an hour. What would I need to make one?

Like this, but more simple and doesn't have to change colors. Or doesn't need to look like. links or videos would be fine. I'm looking for something basic that could be built with 10 to 20 minutes or less.

I found my answer, very basic as I thought so. No solder needed for this. The video mentions it around 4 minutes into it. Pop the battery into the LED, glows. Great now I got to visit Fry's electronics.

Case closed.

So your question was how to power a LED, not how to make one.

I remember we had to do that in 4th or 5th grade science class. Everybody had to build their own LED with simple parts. I think the whole class just ended up licking the 9V batteries. Go public schools, yay.

Exactly. I don't think it's exactly easy to make one!

I'm shocked at how many of my friends have never licked a 9 volt battery.

I've never licked one, but when I did lighting for my high school theater I daisy-chained about 40 of them together and shocked myself that way.

I think there's a guy on Pirate that is having his buddy overseas ship them to him, so he can sell them. I don't think he's marking them up since he's not pimping a yellow star.
