need new labels for genesis carts

Post by mas »

Hi everyone,
I just picked up streets of rage 2, contra hard corps, batman returns, alien 3, and teenage mutant ninja turtles hyperstone heist for the genesis. The thing that pisses me off so much is that the labels especially contra is all ripped up and destroyed. Now I really don't understand why people do this to games. Snes, genesis, nes, n64 it always happens. When I get a game I always took care of it. I was wondering if anyone knows who or where I can buy new labels for my games. If anyone knows please tell me. I got these games at a cheap price so now I want to take care of them and make the games look great again. I just don't get why people can't take care of their games. It's not like they came from gamestop or blockbuster or a mom and pop rental store.

Actually just last night I was thinking it'd be awesome if I could get some fresh new labels for some of my N64 games that look kind of rough. It would kind of suck not having the original label, but at least it would look nicer.

One of the members here, deathsled, swapped an Alien Solider MD repro's PCB with a Genesis casing, and was able to get nice looking labels printed at Staples (I think it was Staples, not positive). Maybe he'll post and enlighten us, as I would like to get some replacement labels myself.

I did it at a FedEx/Kinkos actually. The lady helping me actually gave me a little crap because of the Sega logos on the stuff I had printed. She was like "So you work for Sega?" and when I told her no she was like "Oh well we aren't supposed to do this since it's copyrighted"

I told her I was restoring faded labels on my personal stuff and I wasn't making counterfeit products to sell, which was true! She let it slide.

All I did was take great care in getting my images as close as possible and then took it somewhere that could print on nicer paper and with nicer printers than I had access to at home. My Alien Soldier label isn't actually printed on a glossy sticker type paper so I'll probably get that one done again.

New labels aren't very hard to make. You're only limited to how good your printer is. Or, I suppose, you could get them printed up from a print service.

But it's late, I'll post more info when I get home from work tomorrow. :D

I'm looking forward to that, because I've got a couple of genesis labels that need to be changed.

I also need some new genny labels, the problem isnt getting them printed (since I actually work for a Fedex Office, formerly Kinkos) but finding the file to print from. I searched online and could only find a couple, but none for the games I have.

A quick note on the copyright issue, its not that you are going to sell the picture/book/etc... its that WE are making money on someone else's work. Not that this really applies to the labels for games, but for all the people that try to print their professional photos, or copy their text book. To put it simply, its ILLEGAL, I worked with a girl that got sued by Olen Mills because they did like a sting operation to see if they could bust anybody printing their photos.

Well I don't own a printer and I was willing to pay someone to make them but I don't want people to get in trouble so I guess I have to just wait to I find another copies of my games and sell my crappy copies of games on ebay. Ahh the hell with it I bought everything for only 18.00, should I really bother to wine about the labels? The games work well after I cleaned them. Time for some contra action
