Is there anyone who got Mario Teaches Typing 2 to run on XP? I haven't had any luck. It starts and then exits without any errors. I've tried using Windows 95, 256 colors compatibility settings but it didn't work.
I also tried Virtual PC with a Windows 98 VM with 800x600, 256 colors setting.

Any in windows application events? Is this the actual program, or the installer that's just disappearing?

I got it to work in Virtual PC 2004 & Windows 98. The trick was that I had to use CD -> Capture ISO image. I pointed at the MTT2 iso and then it booted up. It seems to work well. Previously I had exploded the iso and tried to install it.

I believe DOSbox can do Windows 3.1, and then you can run Mario Teaches Typing 2 on it.
EDIT: here's a youtube video of someone actually doing it:

That's good to know. Man, it's bad enough trying to remember what Win95/98 were like, let alone DOS/Windows 3.1.neilencio wrote:I believe DOSbox can do Windows 3.1, and then you can run Mario Teaches Typing 2 on it.
I have Typing of the Dead for the Dreamcast which is pretty good. It's hard to type fast when you have to react to words popping up on the screen versus reading ahead. Mario Teaches Typing seems to use a lot more symbols and numbers which give me trouble since I don't type those that often.
