Not a single person in three pages of responses has actually observed the original intent of the thread and posted a photo, or even a text list of their VGA games.

It's not like the thread is off-topic. He didn't say "hey guys, post photos of your used condom collection". I understand there will be haters, but that is no reason to empty your bowels upon the thread.

As for "asking questions", the OP even said if you have questions to PM him. Publicly asking is just going to incite more hate or be misunderstood.

I don't own any VGA games, but I understand the intent. Some people spend their money on race cars, Beanie Babies "new with tags", or other relatively useless objects. Everyone has their own hobbies they enjoy.

This replies in this thread are nominated for the Worst of Racketboy 2012 Award.

As I stated, not many (are there any at all here?) Racketeers are into VGA grading. Thus the dearth of on topic posts for this poor thread. I'm sure there are many existing threads at Nintendo Age as they love sealed stuff over there.

I sort of respect the preservation aspect of keeping completely new games, but at the same time, I feel that games are meant to be played.

One of my favorite things to do, provided it's affordable enough, is to buy old games new, and then open them.

But yeah, you'll find that while we have a lot of CIB only people here, there's not a lot of NIB VGA collectors.

To the OP,

After your post in another thread showing off your Wii DQ Anniversary VGA, I wondered if you'd post more of your collection. Nice to see a photo of what else you have. :-)

I've had about 25 VGA titles come and go, with a couple more being graded as we type. Unfortunately, the only photos I've taken are for buying and selling purposes and the lighting isn't very good. Nothing worth sharing. I'll say that the most beautiful have probably both been NES carts: Donkey Kong Country Classics (two pack) and SMB 3. I just love that art style of ye olde Nintendo- friendly, colorful and soft. But after a little cash crunch, I sold all but three Wii titles (Epic Yarn, Galaxy 2 and Skyward Sword). They all have matching U95 grades. If I take a good photo in sunlight, I'll post it here. I was really close to buying a graded Wii All Stars reissue, but the box art design just isn't jazzy enough, IMHO. I get what Nintendo was going for with it, but the result isn't something that sparks me.

EDIT,

Incidentally, I think the upcoming NA release of Xenoblade might make a really smashing VGA candidate based on box art, scarcity and the game quality itself.

I've just started getting into VGA grading myself. I've only sent one item in so far, but I've got a stack of 8 games I'm sitting on until I get some spare cash to get them graded. None of the stuff I'm getting graded is particularly rare or valuable, just games that have some sort of signifigance to me. I think they look fantastic and are just great pieces to have in a collection.

Here is the only item I've sent in so far. I got it to commemorate my Twin Galaxies records for TMNT.

Is there a minimum level of quality they will accept for grading?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I dont think so. There is a guy on nintendoage that collects crappy condition carts, and another member managed to get a sealed SMB graded for him that was so beat up it recieved a rating of 10.

Found it. So I guess they only grade the box? The actual cart does not matter?
