Famicom Blue Screen Of Death!!!???
Re: Famicom Blue Screen Of Death!!!???
Did you try it on another TV? And try a different RF adapter if possible.
Re: Famicom Blue Screen Of Death!!!???
I'm pretty sure I've heard that fami rf adapters are notorious for breaking. Maybe try a normal NES-N64 rf adapter. Pretty sure that works for mine. Been a while though.
Re: Famicom Blue Screen Of Death!!!???
Not possible because I only have one TV that is NTSC compatible. Also I only have one RF lead.Ziggy587 wrote:Did you try it on another TV? And try a different RF adapter if possible.
I'm actually already using a (S)NES one. The Famicom one I have has the old connections on it.equalsign wrote:I'm pretty sure I've heard that fami rf adapters are notorious for breaking. Maybe try a normal NES-N64 rf adapter. Pretty sure that works for mine. Been a while though.
Yeah I did, to be honest it wasn't that helpful because it was just a whole lot of people telling him to use the composite cables because they all thought he was using a NES. Tuning the picture is not the problem anymore though, I'm now trying to figure how to get rid of static in the sound so I can hear the actual sounds more clearly.vlame wrote:my friend from aus who had a famicom said it is channel 1/1. did you read the link i posted in my last post?
Also what do you mean by channel 1/1?

You may not be able to play it using RF.
Ziggy587 wrote:Yeah, you need to use channel 92 or 97... one of the channels in the 90's.
@ vlame and Ziggy - Good call!BRIK wrote:The channels don't really seem to be a problem, as it picks up the picture quite well to channel 10 automatically for some reason. I didn't even need to tune it.
One thing I've trying to figure out is the sound. I can barley hear it as there is loud static ruling over everything. The musical tune in my test game is there though, and I can even hear myself when I talk in the microphone, I just need to figure out to get rid of the loud static.
Learn something new ever day! Okay I never knew this, never occured to me that the Famicom channel 1 would jump up to 95 on a US TV. Because of the era the Famicom came out, some clarity is needed on which band to use. I am betting the channel is not cable ready but UHF. If a really old TV there will be a separate two screw jack for a loop antennae.
@ Brik - Channel 10 probably works because of the cable ready tuner. Maybe fooling the signal and sometimes picking up the UHF Channel 95 of the Famicom? Could be part of the reason for the eratic static and blue screen.
Another reason to keep the old pre digital channel tuner TV around. To support all the Atari's and Famicoms!

1/1 = channel 1 on the back of the famicom and 1 on the tv.BRIK wrote:Yeah I did, to be honest it wasn't that helpful because it was just a whole lot of people telling him to use the composite cables because they all thought he was using a NES.
