I thought about that, although repeaters seem to go for a fair bit. The thing is my 360, PS3, and the stuff in my parents room all have stable connections, so it's just my desktop specifically that has these weird issues. After a lot of messing around I kind of figured it was just the hardware and maybe my adapter isn't very good for this range. I remember one day I tested out my laptop connection when my PC wasn't doing too hot and the laptop definitely held up better. Pretty weird.
So I guess if that is the case the repeater probably would help, they seem to go for at least like $80 though from what I'm seeing?
Wireless USB adapter suggestions?

Would $30 break the bank?
Still, the problem could very well be the adapter in your PC since you say your laptop has much better success in your room. My phone and one of my ps3s get lousy wireless signal in my bedroom while my tablet gets a great one.

That definitely doesn't seem like a bad price at all honestly. I definitely might consider trying that out.
