RE revelations demo

Post by Retrozoa »

So the RE revelations demo dropped on the e-shop today, marking the first demo available for the system in North america(it's about time). Like other 3ds demos, you can only play it 30 times, so make them count.

As I've never played a horror game before, I thought I'd give you all my impressions on the demo(don't worry, no spoilers):

"Cute joke at the start there, wow, this game is really pretty."
...
"This ambient noise is really unsettling.."
...
*first monster comes out*
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-"

So, yes, the game is scary, especially if you're new to the genre. What are your thoughts?

I enjoyed it; it felt like a throwback to RE4, which I liked. The controls felt like the earlier RE games, but I believe with the Circle Pad Pro, the controls can be perfected imo. This game looks gorgeous like the OP said and it shows that much development time was put into it and shows the hardware capability given if developers are given time.

In case you guys didn't know, other demos coming soon include Cooking Mama 4 (already out in Europe), Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater, Mario & Sonic at the London Olympic Games, and Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure.

Downloading now.

Would it kill Nintendo to have a regular download status bar? I'd rather have a faster game download instead of loading some little animated b.s.

...Anyway... I'll post again with my thoughts on the game.

Meh, I don't see myself paying more than $20 for this.

It controlled fine I guess.

I want zombies. I don't even know how to describe the things I was shooting at.

It looked pretty good.

That is all.

Im just curious how come this looks like its more closer to ps3/360 graphics than anything the wii could pull off. Its not resident evil, but other 3DS looks way better than waht the wii could pull off.
Dont get me wrong Mario Galaxy looks great, but other than that most wii games seems to be in the realm of ps2 or gamecube.

Downloaded it yesterday as soon as I read this thread. I was very impressed with it, much more than with the lame demo that was on The Mercenaries. I agree that the graphics are very impressive and the control is just fine with what the 3ds provides. I am curious about the circle pad pro, and will most likely pick one up with this game. Did anyone mess with the options and see the setting for cranking up the 3d effect even more? If you put it to the strongest setting it has more dept than I have seen any 3ds game offer, like you could reach into the screen.

I would suppose after 30 playthroughs, you'd made up your mind whether to buy it or not :/

Every time you hear a bizarre, backwards idea that makes no sense in the current market, you can bet it's Nintendo's current strategy.

Does anyone have the Circle Pad Pro to try with this demo? I'm curious as to whether it supports the peripheral/how much of a difference it makes.
