Oops! Sorry.
No shitstorm intended. I just think it's blatantly obvious how the media has been ignoring ron paul, no matter what your views are. That was my purpose in posting about him.

I thought I'd noticed a drop in pressure...AmishSamurai wrote:Wrong forum, and incoming shitstorm.

Re: Ron Paul
What if you were born yesterday? Who cares about these fanciful "what ifs". What really matters is the "what is".
Re: Ron Paul
Yeah... This vid was probably not the best to make my point. I should find the clip frkom the daily show specifically about ron paul. But the point still stands. There is some serious bs at play here from multiple sources in ignoring/repressing ron paul. If there's anything positive to take away from this though, it's that hes still doing quite well in spite of it all.
Re: Ron Paul
Moved.
I give Ron Paul props for persevering through media snubs and for sticking to an unconventional platform. Too bad so many of his ideas are batshit crazy.

Re: Ron Paul
I really don't pay attention to politics but could you give me an example of some of his crazy ideas. You would agree he would be better then Bachman at least right? Now she's batshit crazy.dsheinem wrote:I give Ron Paul props for persevering through media snubs and for sticking to an unconventional platform. Too bad so many of his ideas are batshit crazy.
If Ron Paul did get the republican nomination does anyone think that Sacha Baron Cohen/Bruno might show up to screw with him again?
Re: Ron Paul
Unfortunately many of his ideas, like ending the Fed, are deemed insane when they're actually pretty sensible (when, for instance, you consider what really prompted the creation of the Federal Reserve System - see Gabriel Kolko's Triumph of Conservatism - and its pretty abysmal track record in "protecting" currency).
Re: Ron Paul
He essentially is in favor of abolishing almost all federal agencies (including stuff like the EPA and DOE), ending almost all federal economic regulation, turning everything over to states. He's against the Civill Rights Act, Voting Act, Roe vs. Wade, etc.flex wood wrote:I really don't pay attention to politics but could you give me an example of some of his crazy ideas. This sums up some of my problems nicely: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/orland ... -paul.html
I like some of his ideas, but I think the federal government should ensure fairness and equality when history shows us that states would not. Is there too much federal meddling and oversight in certain areas? Undoubtedly. Is eliminating oversight altogether the answer? Absolutely not.
