I was around 10 or so when this game came out. I thought I was really getting away with something naughty too. The hilarious part was that since it was an adult themed game, there were security questions before the game started that only adults could answer (current events and such). They typically repeated themselves and eventually I could answer them all.
What Game Would You Like To Play Again For the First Time?

When we were kids there was no such thing as a bad game. Every thing was completely remarkable just because it existed. That is what I wish I could experience again. The Nihilist wrote:You want to relive Captain Novolin and Lester The Unlikely?Hazerd wrote:Like every SNES game, even the bad ones, and Diablo 2, World Of Warcraft, StarCraft, i loved Blizzard pre-activision...

Sorry, I can't just pick one! Soooo many memories!
Final Fantasy IV & VI SNES
Super Mario Bros 3 NES
Faxanadu NES
Crystalis NES
Mega Man II & III NES
Ninja Gaiden I, II & III NES
Secret Of Mana SNES
Playing Super C NES with a friend
Metroid NES
Zelda A Link To The Past SNES
It doesn't help that I associate my first experiences with these games with the most carefree and happiest days of my life. Great times though. Ninja Gaiden I & II along with Final Fantasy IV blew my mind away when I first played them.

Jesus Christ, I beat Bubsy 1 and 2. I think a little part of me died because I took so much time trying to beat these games when I could be applying them toward games that I should have played, like Legend of Mana or the Final Fantasy series or Harvest Moon or Chrono Trigger.
I'm convinced that if I listed my track record of games I played for SNES, people would think I was purposely trying to avoid good games. Our rental store in Utah SUCKED.
Anyway. F***ing Bubsy...
Between 1's inability to register a legitimate hit against an enemy or a enemy hit to you (ah f**k! I'm gliding, I'm PROBABLY going to die if I run into something)
and 2's ANNOYING repetition
(didn't I just play these 6 levels. When the fuck is this game going to END?!)
Bubsy sucked.
IMHO, it did teeter on the fine line of challenging and frustration, which few games have been able to wield.
And WHY THE HELL is the final boss in Bubsy SO DAMN FAST!?
I LOVED the soundtrack and that Bubsy 2 had the ultimate in mid-90's weaponry: The Nerf

Bubsy is pretty much the quintessential mediocre '90s platformer that everyone's played but no one likes. The Nihilist wrote:Hazerd wrote:i played the hell out of Bubsy.FiftyDollarCurse wrote:

Link to the Past. Renting or playing the game randomly at a friends when I was 5-ish (didn't own it myself for years) was like transporting myself into another world. I felt lost in how huge the game was back then and it was just an incredible experience. Extra weird back then when I'd rent it, and load up other random saves that were all over the place, so I never finished it myself from start to finish for awhile until I was a little older.
Nowadays I can probably hand draw the entire maps and every single dungeon, lol. It still feels like a big game and is one of my favorites, but yeah that experience I had playing it back in the day was something else. Same with Super Metroid.

Is it? I've seen clips of it but I wasn't sure if it would be worth playing or not. Just looked up some info and saw they somehow covered the entire storyline. I wonder how faithful it really is. I YouTube'd it and was sad to see the music is stuff borrowed from other NES FFs.noiseredux wrote:did you ever play the Fami bootleg of VII? It's kind of awesome.

I seem to remember the music being not only from other FFs, but remarkably screechy and grating. It literally made me quit.brunoafh wrote:Is it?
