Twin Famicom Audio Problems

Post by PigInTheMud »

I purchased two twin famicoms recently and one of the has been giving me audio problems. Whenever I turn it on I can hear in the background an obnoxious buzzing sound. I know for a fact that it is not the sound board that is the problem because I switched the seemingly broken one with the good one but there were still problems in the same system with the new sound board. I think it may be a capacitor problem but I am not sure. What do you think?

Have you tried a different power supply? Cheapo power supplies usually cause noise in both audio and video, I'd try that first before replacing the caps. If you are going to replace the caps, I'd start with the big 2200 uF cap which acts as a voltage filter.

The power supply that I am using is the official power supply. So I am not sure why it would cause any problems, but I will try another just in case. Thanks for the help!

Although now that I think about it, the one with audio problems is the model 2 twin famicom whereas the power cable is for the model 1.
