Moshing IS retarded though. If I was in that position I would have done the same thing (walked off the stage).

Pretty sure I'm correct here. Slamming your body into somebody else forcefully with intent to harm is not a form of expression. It's just Neanderthal. I'd prefer to be in a concert enjoying the atmosphere of hundreds of people moving in sync expressing themselves with their voices and dance, rather than some fucking retarded douchenozzle that wants to fucking slam himself into me. If you want to 'express' yourself in that way, go join a boxing club, get your aggression out on a willing participant and get the fuck out of my way.

I'm a very small, timid guy so I agree with Niode on the moshing issue. For purely personal, self-preservation issues. I wish physics works in the way that people can only mosh with people wish to mosh back.

I was at a Korn concert 2 years ago and as the concert went on a moshpit circle began to form. I watched to see as what the proper procedure was as it was my first time. The song 'Got The Life' began to play and I knew this was my chance to partake. So I jumped in and ran with the circle bumping into people as I went around. Around the 3rd lap, I tripped onto the ground. The circle kept going and I was being trampled. Then out of nowhere, 2 arms proceed to put me a full nelson without the chocking part and life me up. I turn around to see my savior, a no shirt 6 foot man with pigtails all around his head. A bro-hug happened and I left the circle.

that's not the right way to mosh, at all. so, i agree with you there, but there's nothing wrong with a pit in the general sense.

i also forgot that you posted a while back that you really like coheed and cambria so i would think that our tastes might differ a little bit with regard to what's an acceptable pit.

My musical tastes have nothing to do with this. I've been to plenty metal concerts and I still think moshpits are retarded.

On the subject of moshing, are there other bands who disapprove of it? I read somewhere that Tool's Lateralus had weird time signatures to make it impossible to mosh to (which I found weird, because people will mosh even if it doesn't sync with the music's beat.)

it's not like anybody is going to be moshing at coachella for this shit anyway. refused is ONLY playing the shape of punk to come, and they're playing in front of probably 200,000 people, so it WILL be retarded, but it won't be because of any moshing.
