Scarface DVD Video Quality between 2 versions question

Post by s8n »

hi RB members ..........

I am looking to get Scarface DVD and on DVDbeaver website there is quite a difference in the Video quality check below link........

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare/scarface.htm

On the Amazon website the Anniversary Edition isnt in-stock atm , im unsure if it will be back in-stock any time soon. Amazon does have the Platinum Edition in-stock and was wondering if anyone knows if the 2 versions are the same Video quality wise ?

hope to hear from RB members

Usually the newer versions are in Anamorphic. DVD Talk is a good source for DVD reviews.

I own both the original and anniversary edition. The main problem with the original is that it is not anamorphic. The video quality suffers on a 16:9 TV. Any of the newer, anamorphic DVDs should be fine.

The bonus goodies in the anniversary edition weren't that great. I guess the best item is the full DVD of the original 1932 version. If you haven't seen that yet, do so. It is actually rather well made.

Amazon wrote:SCARFACE SCOREBOARD: Watch Scarface like never before...keep track of the number of times the "F" word is used and the number of bullets fired.
  Oh man I may have to get this version. The video game is pretty good too, the swagger as Scarface taunts his victimes. :D
