Re: SNES imports
Yeah, to clarify, I was talking about my R&F cart. My EB one ran me about $110. It's definitely worth the money, R&F is basically Megaman 8 done right (MM8 had a shop system that threw away everything MM7 established, pathetic bosses, awful landboarding segments, overpowered abilities, unbalanced upgrades, voice actors that managed to be *worse* than the ones in X4, an awful attempt at a story, and a soundtrack with only two good songs, one of which being a remix of the Bass theme and the other being the stage select).

Rockman and Forte
Standard Megaman game (oh noes, old-man Wily is at it again!), but you don't need to knock a lick of Japanese to play it.
But the difficulty of the game is pretty high. Some stages are annoying nightmares and half the bosses are some of the most difficult bosses in the entire Mega Man universe (none of them are annoying hard like Slash Man. But your first time fighting Burner Man will end horribly--even with the Ice Wall. And finding out that Dynamo Man can regenerate health almost made me sh*t myself)
Great Music, great challenge, great gameplay. Even if you aren't a fan of Mega Man, it's worth your time.
My only complaint (and it's a sacrilegious one to the MM fans) is Forte.
Once you get the gun upgrade, the game becomes too easy (if you're playing as Forte).

Really? Besides the *real* boss of the second King stage, I'd say that the game's easier as Megaman. For Megaman, that one boss is... well, that one boss.

Oh god, THAT ONE BOSS. I don't think I've seen such a steep learning curve in a game before.GameMasterGuy wrote:Really? Besides the *real* boss of the second King stage, I'd say that the game's easier as Megaman. For Megaman, that one boss is... well, that one boss.
I remember playing the game on an emulator against THAT ONE BOSS. And hitting those annoying lanterns. On the emulator, it only lit up the outside border and not the screen itself. So the border only went bright white for a couple seconds. It was weird, but after I got the cart, I understood what was going on.
For me, once I figured out how to get around Forte's shooting limitations (you can't move and shoot at the same time, but you can dash and shoot!); especially against the likes of Tengu Man and Burner Man, being able to shoot wildly at things off screen (or normally out of Mega Man's reach) makes things easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy.

You can dash and shoot at the same time as him!? I never knew that! I always kept jumping while shooting as him to stay mobile while attacking.
