Games you have bought for weird reasons

Super Bonk. Because I heard you could turn into a giant atomic chicken.

Does buying a game without really knowing much about it but hearing people raving about it on racketboy count? Catherine, Heavy Rain and Hyperdimension Neptunia. I have yet to be let down though so thanks noise and everyone else that raves about games here keep it up.

MetalStorm (NES)
Thought it would come with an offer for that little Battletech/WH2K-esuqe plastic figurine Nintendo Power kept posing.
Ranma 1/2 (SNES)
Before I even knew of the franchise, Diehard GameFAN covered the game and it looked very deep and colorful. (The SF2 craze was pretty big, but this looked... different. And it was.)
Super Valis IV (SNES)
The cover (and magazine coverage of the first stage) had a hot Amazon taking up a sword and swatting a dark knight riding a fire-breathing tiger in mid-pounce.
WHO WOULDN'T BUY A GAME BASED ON THAT DESCRIPTION?!
Mega Man PC
No reason. Saw it at Toys R Us back in the day and thought a PC version of Mega Man was better than no Mega Man. Those EGA graphics were pretty terrible, though in hindsight, I am amazed the entire game was coded, drawn, and arranged single-handedly.

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.
