What new Characters for the next Smash Bros.?

I was thinking about how epic the last Smash Bros. was with the roster. I know that Nintendo is trying to push the envelope with everything that they do, so I cannot imagine the next installment being anything more than.... um... epic X 2? LOL.


I was thinking of how cool it would be to introduce different "skins" to some of the characters. For instance, they have Link already, but how badass would it be to play as classic 8-bit link? Or even Windwaker Link? The programming wouldn't be hard, it'd be a simple skin over the character.

I was curious to see what other members had thoughts of regarding new characters?

I'd like the ability to play as versions of characters from the old games. I so miss Melee Ganondorf and N64 Ness. The abilitiy to play as bosses and at all stages would be nice for once.

I'd like to see a giant 16-bit wars themed Nintendo vs Sega game actually.

Would be really nice to see more alternate costumes based on older designs of the characters. Like imagine being able to choose between Ocarina of Time Link, Skyward Sword link, and Alttp Link.

Assuming they have to be Nintendo characters here's some characters I would like to see added:

Issac or Matthew - Golden Sun series
This series is popular enough I am surprised they haven't done it yet.

Little Mac - Punch-out series
Another obvious character that would easily fit in.

Ridley - Metriod series
This would be a secret boss character that is playable after you defeat him.

Dark Link - Legend of Zelda series
This character would be the secondary Link character.

Birdo - Mario Series
We need more transgender characters

Starfy - The Legendary Starfy series
I know we only got one game here, but its popular enough in japan to warrant him.

Saki Amamiya - Sin And Punishment

Crystal - Star Fox

Slime - Dragon Quest
Fortune Street's release in america makes this hopeful

Professor Layton - Professor Layton

Megaman - Megaman
They had Sonic why not megaman too.
