At The Drive In and Refused to reform in 2012!

Post by Niode »

I was discussing this EXACT topic with a buddy of mine a few months back. We were talking about how shit The Mars Volta had became, their first album was amazing and then it just went all down hill from there. Then we started talking about Sparta and then how awesome it would be if At The Drive In reformed, I thought that conditions were right as they had mentioned things to that kin not too long ago and what with The Mars Volta winding down and Sparta in a state of 'will they/won't they'? as to a follow up to their 2006 album Threes. Then we went onto another band that we would love to see reform next year (2012), Refused. I had heard rumours upon rumours about their reformation. Now it's happened. Crazy shit.

yeah this has been all over the internet today. i actually have a trip to AZ/CA planned around this time, if i can get tickets on friday i will go, but i really hate big music fests for the most part.

although, seeing threadbare, guilt, and unbroken at burning fight was awesome.

I used to game with a few peeps that were into Mars Volta and alternative music. I'm not familiar with the specifics, but they did not like mainstream music. I never understood it. They showed me Persephone when they discovered my interest in Enya. I still don't know what to make of it.

That said. I've not kept up with music since Total Request Live on MTV. The Offspring was the best 'normal' band. Britney Spears was famous for her appeal, N*Sync and the Backstreet Boy were duking it out, and the Beastie Boys never made any sense to begin with.

These two bands aren't exactly spring chickens. ATDI split in 2001 and refused split in 1998 both having roughly 7-8 active years...

I misread it as At the Drive In Refused to reform in 2012, and thought, did they have a disagreement over the no moshing and no throwing of bottled urine policy?
