I didn't like it back then and I don't like it now.
It didn't ever seem like anything more than a big, foggy maze.
although one thing that I can't hate on - dat underwater theme

Not Goldeneye, Zelda, Mario Kart, or shit even the Banjo-Kazooie games or something?
Re: Turok problem
Pretty much like any other game, you have to be willing to give it a shot if you want to get to the point where you can enjoy it. Some games are easier than others to get into while some are impossible. It's up to you to decide. It's like Majora's Mask for me, when I first tried it I was iffy about it, played it for 10 minutes and left it alone for weeks. When I finally gave it a chance I ended up really loving it.

Turok 2 was pretty fun. I really enjoyed multiplayer.

Re: Turok problem
I talked about the first two Turok's a lot in (I think) the random thread. I recently played the first one again, then played the second one for the first time. I'll try and find those posts so I can copy and paste them here, I don't really feel like typing my thoughts out again.

When I first started playing Turok 2: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 08#p509808
Turok 2 has real world effects: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 48#p510048
I like Turok 1 a lot, and the fog doesn't piss me off too much. It's second only to Goldeneye, as my favorite FPSs for the N64.
The second one I really liked a lot too. The only thing that pissed me off was the horrible frame rate issues. Other than that, it's a great game, and definitely improves upon the first game.

Turok 2 wasn't really engaging for me. Too much crap to do. I just want to shoot dinosaurs. haha
Re: Turok problem
Yeah, I think I said some where, Turok 2 should have had more elements from Turok 1. But all in all, it was a pretty good game. The only thing I would complain about is some of the confusing as hell levels. I can get through all the levels in the first game on my own. But Turok 2, if I didn't have the strategy guide for the maps, I probably would have thrown that game through the window! Some of those levels are just nasty to navigate!
Re: Turok problem
Where I think that Turok 1 was the most memorable for me, it featured BLOOD, and a lot of it. Crazy deaths when you would shoot a bad guy in the neck or something.
Up until this game, Nintendo was super family friendly, and correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't this the first game to really go "over the top" for Nintendo?

The game was made my Acclaim though. Shadows of the Empire came out before it by a good bit. I think Turok 1 was the first Mature game on the console.pvt_awol wrote:Up until this game, Nintendo was super family friendly, and correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't this the first game to really go "over the top" for Nintendo?
To me, Turok was always about multiplayer. It gave us a different spin from Goldeneye and playing as the raptor was always fun. That and the water physics were so bugged out.
