Ticked - Despite doing double the workload of the rest of my team, the sycophantic coworker who is buddy buddy with the bosslady got an award and got a paid day off this Monday and I was told I am not doing enough work. I pointed out to the bosslady that per HER reports I am doing double the workload, she simply stated "I expected more out of you."

Smiled - All of the reps and managers know I am the one doing the work, so they are going to demand that I either get a raise or a new position on Monday. Two of the managers were cussed out by the bosslady today, and have stated that they want me to have her position instead. We actually just had one of my old reps quit because I wasnt there to help him close several deals. He made it quite public to, told the VP and Director that is why he was quitting.

So while the situation sucks, Monday will be REALLY interesting.

Smile 2 - Got my Angel Wings in Terraria last night, and my Blue Armor. Tonight is logging a world followed by some spelunking, then rounded out with a few matches of either Dungeon Defenders, L4D2, or Serious Sam 3. Ive got a gig tomorrow night so I am staying up a bit later than normal tonight.

I just beat Grandia 2 a few hours ago, and the last boss was a total pushover! I was expecting some gigantic, demonic ethereal entity that took about an hour to beat, but what I got was a freaking
head in a jar with wings
! That's not intimidating; that's stupid! But, I could forgive it if it was at least difficult. Unfortunately, this was not the case, either; I was able to beat in in well under 10 minutes, and none of my characters died once! Overall, it was an alright game. the story was (ironically) a too preachy, but the battle system made up for it.

I remember playing and beating Grandia 2 for the Dreamcast. Fantastic game, and you are right about the battle system being great.

That game I paid $10 shipping on, after it was supposed to be $8. Look what it was actually shipped for...

What kind of feedback should I leave for this guy? I mean it was still technically a good price for the game because it was the cheapest on ebay even with the awfully inflated "shipping" price, but this is really crappy customer service.

In these situations, I email the seller and ask them to refund a portion of the missing postage. If they refuse, explain that you will have to forward the conversation along with the photo to Ebay as part of a claim.

They will back down. Ebay hammers sellers that pad their wallets with shipping fees.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It is technically shipping & packaging & handling. But yeah. Definitely not $7 of packing materials and handling. I'd say at least give a neutral for lack of communication and inflated handling and the surcharge BS. Just make sure to leave a factual note, not an accusatory one.

"Asked for careful packing. Got no communication w/ surcharge and an overall inflated shipping and handling fee." Something like that.

^Agree.

From my view - a seller can charge whatever they want for shipping, because really, we as bidders are factoring that cost into our bid. Meaning, if an item has free shipping, obviously that seller isn't shipping for free, etc. And yes, a seller has the prerogative to charge for materials and handling time, again, we know what they are charging in advance.

What I do not stand for, as a buyer, is when after the auction the seller attempts to change the shipping price. I wouldn't pay that invoice, rather, tell them to send the correct invoice or you will not pay, leave a negative, and notify ebay of that attempt.

So, is that what happened, the item was listed at $8 shipping and the invoice came back with $10? Then - you should absolutely ask for at least $2 back, since technically you factored $8 into your bid.

Of course but ebay frowns upon charging more than the actual shipping cost, mostly for their own sake I'm sure but still. $2 isn't really a big deal, I'm willing to just let it go. But they're definitely not getting 5 stars for their "reasonable" shipping fees.

*edit* By the way Hobie, they did finally email back saying they always make sure to ship carefully and yadda yadda. But no, "hey by the way that's gonna be an extra two dollars."
The game came with the styrofoam insert and that's what they used to hold the disc down in the case.

Ebay has started taking a cut of shipping costs too - to combat the problem of inflated shipping costs.

The main thing to be wary of on shipping costs, is if you wish to return an item - often, ebay will force a return, if the seller refuses - however, whether they reimbures shipping costs is situational, that's where you need to be careful when bidding on some things. I've seen some sellers do the deal where they put the item at $0.01 bid and $75.00 shipping...on an item that should sell for about $75. Then, if you are unhappy and the seller accepts your return of the item, boom - you get a $0.01 refund and some egg on the face - meanwhile the seller got $75 and keeps the item. That is when we as buyers need to pay attention.
