Replacement spring for SNES reset switch?

I just got a second-hand SNES today and I noticed that the my reset button makes a terrible metal unwinding noise when I press it up. Opening the system up it looks like it should be pretty easy to replace it, but searching around I can't seem to find a replacement part. Can someone who's done this before point me in the direction of where I can order one? Thanks!

Honestly, if I were you, I'd give up the reset button for dead and just use the power switch from now on. Or, if the reset button matters that much to you, your best bet is to buy a dead SNES and salvage the spring from it.

I'll probably never even use the switch, it's really just my OCD at play here. It's a simple enough mechanism; I would imagine there's a part that would fit it, I just don't know how to find it. Buying a whole new SNES (that may have the same problem!) seems a bit overkill, especially since my only option is online listings like Craigslist and Ebay.

Maybe you could find a for parts one that has a fully functional reset button, then swap your functional console into the functional shell (I'm assuming you can't take the reset switch thing off of the shell).

I have a ton of salvaged springs. I've probably got one that will work if you're desparate.

The spring itself works, but the mechanism makes a really irritating creaky-windy sound when you push up on it. I took apart the whole console and took the spring off and I'm not convinced that it's the spring itself causing the noise now. I'm going to treat it with Retr0brite all day tomorrow and put it back together; I'll report back on whether the noise is still there when I'm done (with before and after pics if all goes well!)

Maybe just need to clean out the grind up plastic dust and add a touch of plastic gear grease?
