How's Connecticon?Nemoide wrote:Connecticon, in Hartford, CT -which I think is in July. It's my primary annual con where I can meet up with lots of college friends.
I also *might* go to New York Comic Con/Anime Fest in October. It'll depend on my mood/financial situation.
What CONS are you going to this year?

That's where I'll be! It's my first time going, though.noiseredux wrote:I'm sure I'll hit up PAX East again this year.

I will definitely be at PAX Prime again, as well as the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. I'm also tempted to drive up to Vancouver for their 1st retro gaming expo in March. Help support Game Deals with their new venture.

I really like it - it's a nice medium-sized convention with enough variety to satisfy nerds of different tastes without becoming something too overwhelming.o.pwuaioc wrote:How's Connecticon?
And this year, my illustrator girlfriend is going to be having her first artist alley table, which should be exciting.

I'll be at Katsucon, AnimeNEXT, and Otakon for sure. And either PAX East or Anime Boston. And then maybe one or two others. We shall see.

Wish I could get to more of these. Living in central Maine makes me feel pretty isolated and I don't have any real-life anime/gaming friends.

Come on down to MA, and we can hang, haha.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Wish I could get to more of these. Living in central Maine makes me feel pretty isolated and I don't have any real-life anime/gaming friends.
You might also consider flying to some bigger cons. I went to Portcon once and hated it, haha. Where you there in 2009?

Portcon is the only con I've ever been to! I've only been into anime and game collecting for a couple of years. I went to Portcon in 2010 and 2011. Anything special happen in '09? It is quite small, which is why bigger cons are starting to sound so appealing to me.ZenErik wrote:Come on down to MA, and we can hang, haha.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Wish I could get to more of these. I will try to get to MA to attend something later this year. I was thinking Anime Boston, but now everyone is telling me to go to PAX instead?? I don't know anything about PAX.

it's all video games, man.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I don't know anything about PAX.
Re: What CONS are you going to this year?
But Anime Boston has videogames AND anime. More general Japanese culture. However, because they are the same weekend this year AB may be lighter on the videogames. And slightly lower in attendance. Horrible planning.noiseredux wrote:it's all video games, man.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I don't know anything about PAX.
