Your Top 10 albums of 2011
Re: Your Top 10 albums of 2011
Hatsune Miku. I've known about the vocaloids before 2011 but that was the year I got really interested in it. I listen to this stuff very often now.
That's all I have to say. I'm not a big music guy at all. I would have a hard time with just naming 10 music artists.

Yeah, I think there's only been maybe 2 or 3 albums in this thread mentioned in more than one person's list.
Fugavi and I both listed M83, and I think some guys like the Kanye/Jay-z colab, but other than that we're all over the place. I point this out, because I think it's awesome.
I know someone else besides me mentioned the new Nightwish album that came out this year, but yeah we are pretty diverse in our music tastes here. Even when you look at the metal fans like myself on the forum, we are still all over the place in our tastes

I don't follow the music scene as closely as I used to, so rather than posting a definitive 'best of' list, here is just a simple list of the albums I listened to from 2011.
Amon Tobin- ISAM
Aperture Science Psychoacoustic Laboratory- Songs to Test By (Portal 2 Sdtrk)
Bjork- Biophilia
C418- Minecraft: Volume Alpha
Eddie Vedder- Ukulele Songs
Florence + The Machine- Ceremonials
The Muppets (Original Soundtrack)
OC Remix vs The Bad Dudes- Heroes VS Villains
Pearl Jam- PJ20
PJ Harvey- Let England Shake
SBTRKT- SBTRKT
Shinesparkers- Metroid: Harmony of a Hunter
Tori Amos- Night of Hunters
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross- The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Venetian Snares- Cubist Reggae
I liked all of these albums quite a lot, but my 3 favorites would be Tori Amos: Night of Hunters, The Muppets Soundtrack, and the Minecraft Soundtrack.

More important than hearing the album is seeing the live show. It was one of the best concert experiences of my life. The technology used in the musically-synced visual presentation was mind blowing.

Lots of good tours don't hit Houston. As I recall he didn't hit anywhere in Texas when I looked at dates. Think it was east coast, west coast, Seattle, then various places in Europe.

Re: Your Top 10 albums of 2011
wow the last "modern" album I bought was Danzig's latest, in 2010. I basically just stick to classic metal/hard rock and 90s alternative. I will get Slayer's new album if it comes out in 2012. Oh, I got Foo Fighters latest one.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.
