Wait, do you have to pee with someone present? I could never do that, call it "toilet tension" or whatever. I don't even like to use urinals, always been a stall man.

Why would it matter if someone who sells yarn occasionally smokes a joint, snorts a line, etc.? Drug testing for most professions is an absolute affront to your privacy, and if I were you I would fight it on principle.

God damn, that's awesome! Now I'm thinking about buying once of those keyboards from Hobie just for that mod!

That doesn't bother me one bit. I doubt any of my close friends haven't seen me butt naked, and in a doctor's office I have zero reservations on dropping my pants.

I firmly believe the tests are to help weed out current employees that they want to dismiss anyway. Saying "I won't take this based on principle" would only hurt my chances of being retained. Picking my battles wisely on this one.

I think the yarn/drug thing is to avoid anyone with pot-clouded judgement from knitting something like this:

You know what's weird. I have absolutely no problem in the doctor's office, but when I'm asked to go pee in the cup, then I have stage fright.

True story: During my last physical, I was asked to disrobe and was pointed to something that looked like a half shower curtain. I said "Nah, I'm fine" and dropped trow right there with no issue.

Peeing in a cup isn't an issue either, but I don't want to meet with a fertility expert one day.

Somewhat related: I have a friend that contracted e. coli once and he had to defecate in a container to have his feces tested. I don't have a problem peeing in a cup but I don't think I'd be able to shit in a container on command.

Don't worry, marijuana users usually know their stuff. There's plenty of ways to get around a drug test, I'm sure he will be alright.
