I should have specified that I want it to upscale from ISOs. I ripped all of my older disc games in the past and now do not really trust the systems with them. I know they are just toys, but bugger all I had a devil of a time finding a good copy of Jade Cocoon.

Why do you need a DS3. If your a retro gamer you play most of your games without it (and I gather u are retro considering you belong to this site)
"Because I am a retro gamer, I own a PS3 and it doesn't need rumble." That's kind of a peculiar and contradictory statement you made there. :?
I'm not going to buy a PS3 because I am a retro gamer. I'll buy one for the newest stuff and I most certainly won't play MGS4 or GTAIV w/o a DS3 especially when the previous games had it. I couldn't and wouldn't play those games without something that was good like rumble. Rumble or bust~ :D
I play retro because newer isn't always better. ;)

All he is saying is that rumble give people a better and more immersive experience when playing a certain game. Your argument sounds like this. You have been playing an arcade light gun game with a controller all this time and you don't see anything wrong with it However, he argues that you will need a light gun to fully enjoy the game. Hope that clears things up a bit.

"Why is rumble such a huge deal when most of you play without it most of the time?!"

BTW, where did you get that stat from. If given a choice, then I think most of us would prefer to have rumble over not. People were playing without rumber on PS3 before because they were forced to. That does not mean they don't think it is a big deal. Perhaps for you it is not, but I think other might not feel the same way. I also think you are generalizing and stereotyping retrogamers. Just because we are retrogamers doesn't mean we can't enjoy the finer things in life or next gen gaming with high def graphics and technological advances.

Im saying since this is a retro-gaming community. Most of you are used to not having it. I find rumble to distract me from a game but thats me.

Stupid rumble distracts, but well-designed rumble can really contribute to a game.

I disable it most of the time since I'm using some form of wireless controllers. It kills the batteries so much quicker. Just my opinion.

It's not just your opinion. Rumble motors can be a big battery drain, especially if a game overuses the rumble.
