Not sure if I've shared this before, but my Mother hand knitted an original Dr.Who carf, and the thing is a monster:

Smile: Have the day off today, so plenty of time to both clean up the house and goof around.

Frown: For savings sake, I'm going to Wal-Mart to pick up some tissues, toilet paper, sponges, and other cleaning supplies. I don't hate every Wal-Mart, but mine stinks.

On a more serious note, I have a close friend who is battling cancer. He beat testicular cancer, but somehow it is still spreading. As soon as he gets good news, he gets bad news. I just wish he could have a month, or even a week where he didn't have to worry or go to a doctor. Luckily it is in my means to send him gifts from time to time, but maybe in a few months I can visit him and take him out to a comedy club, or hell, maybe even a strip club for laughs.

The worst part is not knowing. If the doctor said "You've got 6 months", he'd probably be thrilled. Unfortunately, so far it's way too many questions and not enough answers.

Good points, and anything bad that does come up usually does get defused by a cooler head or two so far, in my experiences here. I lurk in a TON of forums, and this and another one are the only ones I actively post/follow in and I guess maybe I'm not used to threads being escalated and out of control with swears and stuff thrown in, but it looks like everything is a bit calmer this morning now. I guess I was just upset at how things were quickly de-generating last night in the particular thread I am referencing, but that's the nature of the forum-beast sometimes. Overall, good people/mods/staff here making the convos/threads engaging and fun.

I wanted to use this, but I will anyway

You mean it didn't go like the Abbott & Costello routine?

"I like Doctor Who."
"Who?"
"No, not who. Doctor Who."
"Who's that?"
"FIRST BASE!"

Still, if someone wasn't willing to give me the time of day on anything geeky or nerdy, not even allowing me to explain it, well..... :?

I saw this gamecube controller I wanted on ebay for $8.29. They had the "make an offer" option so I submitted an offer of $6. Because they had like 5 million of these controllers so I figure it wouldn't hurt them too much to knock off $2 and if not I figured they'd just send a counter-offer of maybe $7 or something. No, this morning I wake up with a counter-offer of $8.19. 10 cents off of the original buy it now price. Excuse my language but are they fucking with me? They can't be serious. Not that a dollar would've made much of a difference, and not that it's even expensive to begin with. But 10 cents?

Kind of defeats the purpose of having a 'make an offer' option doesn't it...

Haha yeah pretty much. I decided it'd be fun to counter them with an offer of $7. Just to see what'll happen.

Smile: Finally got around to opening the package Dave sent me. He told me last year he would make a 'limited edition' physical copy of the charity podcast I bid on. It took awhile (busy schedules on both ends and all) but it was definitely worth the wait:

And he even sent a case with intact hinges. What a guy!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Ah, I thought the conversation could go that way, but I hoped for the best. Doesn't matter though.

Smile-Portal is just so awesome.

Ticked-I'm not as impressed with Half Life 2 as I would have liked. I hope that the episodes redeem it for me, or else I might trade the Orange Box and buy Still Alive on XBLA.
