Sweet custom portable Gamecube: The Envision

Post by KDub »

Someone passed this on to me today and I had to share it. A pretty awesome portable Gmaecube, I wish I could buy one right now.

Bet you a lot of folks here will be ticked it doesn't use original discs. :P

Gorgeous video on that screen though.

Yeah It does kinda suck that it is SD and not the original disks but for the sake of slimness I don't blame him. The only other thing I don't like is that he didn't use the joysticks from the Gamecube controller.

The right analog stick seems like it is in the way of using the buttons above it. You can see that he has to arch his thumb over the right stick to avoid it. That problem aside, it looks fantastic.

Nit-picking, but fit & finish could use some tweaking (especially the joystick thing KDub pointed out). It stands as a spectacular prototype or a not-quite-polished final.

Ditching the discs means it's a dedicated "backup" player too, unfortunately.
The pro-scan display is downright awesome, however.

Yeah. I also feel that right thumbstick seems a little too close to the edge. I think it should be in more... a little closer towards the screen

Looks mouth-watering.

I dream of a day when someone hacks the PS Vita and gets a Gamecube emulator running on it. Might actually buy one for that.

I KEEP THROWING MY MONEY AT THE SCREEN, BUT NOTHING IS HAPPENING! D:

But seriously, that is a gorgeous portable. I wish he was selling it; I would find a way to get the money together for something like that.
