Yes! I loved the Diet Coke commercial for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, classic.Luke wrote:I'm really hoping to see a screening, but if not, I'm sure one of my friends will and I'll be sure to give an update.Hobie-wan wrote:Well that gives me cautious optimism.Luke wrote:The trailer is out for PROMETHEUS, the Alien prequel. Go check it out. It's almost identical to the ALIEN trailer from 1979.
Just picked up BATMAN (1989) something or other special edition on Blu Ray. I still have the VHS somewhere around the house, and I'm hoping the Blu Ray has the intro commercials for Diet Coke and the Warner Bros. catalog. "You can't watch a Warner Bros. movie without a Warner Bros. ball cap".
What was the last movie you've seen?

I have the VHS tape with that ad. It's great. They just don't make ads like that anymore (or they do, and I'm watching all the wrong things.)Stark wrote:Yes! I can still see the Diet Coke can with a flowing cape on it while you hear the jingle "Just for the taste of it...Diet Coke!". Always loved the fact that getting a Diet Coke was so urgent that not only did Alfred not get it, Bruce took the time to go full on Batman to get his frosty cola.BoringSupreez wrote: I have the VHS tape with that ad. Yeah, the old Universal monster flicks are great! They honestly just don't make 'em like they used to any more.BurningDoom wrote:Nintendork666 wrote:
Excellent tastes, my friend.
That's a piece of my childhood. My dad influenced this geek soooo much. Saw all the Universal Monster movies many times over. Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man and Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein are still my favorites.
I haven't seen Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein yet, but I know that's supposed to be a classic. I've only seen Abbot & Costello Meet the Invisible Man, that's one I grew up on and honestly it still cracks me up! Nobody ever really talks about it though...
Anyways, I watched Rebirth of Mothra (1996) last night, and boy was it crazy.

A bunch of really good monster fights, OUTSTANDING effects, and it was just so damn colorful and wacky! I couldn't have been more pleased/engaged - even the parts with singing were fun.
I think House of Frankenstein or Rebirth of Mothra II might be up next for me.

I love old fashioned monster movies. I really love the giant Japanese monster fight movies. (I know there is a word for them, but my knowledge of Japanese is pretty null.) I was never personally a fan of the movies where Mothra is the star. I prefered Godzilla generally. There is also a series with a giant turtle, I can't remember it.

But its import only... I don't have any type of Playstation, but now I question my thoughts of getting a BC PS3.
Oh, and I watched Dazed and Confused again. Great stuff.

Someone stole my copy. I went to watch it about a year ago, and it's NOWHERE to be found. And that's the same copy I received as a kid. I know the commercials you're talking about. And to hear they aren't on the DVD copy, sucks. It won't be as magical when I replace the movie.Luke wrote:I can still see the Diet Coke can with a flowing cape on it while you hear the jingle "Just for the taste of it...Diet Coke!".
