The 3DS Shinobi game is made by Western developers. That's why it looks like shit. I hate how some Japanese games are being handed off to Western devs nowadays. (>_<)

Mario Kart 7 was mostly made by Japanese. Retro did the Donkey Kong course. Retro is the exception anyway. They don't do super realistic, boring art like most Western devs do. Anyway, I'm not saying that all Western games are terrible or all Japanese games are good, but I dislike that realistic art style. Skyrim looks like shit to me as well, lol. It's very ugly. Graphics and art style are not the same thing.
To be fair, Dark Souls looks ugly to me as well. That was developed by Japanese, right? Skyward Sword, which runs off hardware that is extremely outdated, looks much better to me.
