That must be correct, because what AdamGomez is saying is true. I believe it sold well as a home video, though.OldSchool_Boy wrote:I may be wrong but I am guessing that AdamGomez1987 is speaking of Little Nemo:Adventures in Slumberland and that you (Golgo 14) are referring to Finding Nemo.Golgo 14 wrote:?? John Waters did the commentary. He brought it up in "This Filthy World", and asked why it has to be the director? And mentioned the craft person and imitated the craft person and said:Michi wrote:You Better Watch Out

Yours truly has thought about doing homemade commentaries, but I don't have any decent hardwareYeah, I put salt in her food. The bitch ain't dead, is she?
I've seen Christmas Evil before, but it's been a while, and it was in the morning after a sleepless night, so I was barely lucid.
Recently:
* Eloise at Christmastime. The star is brilliant in her in-the-tradition-of-the-greats (the "greats" including but not limited to Macaulay Culkin (who would later play drugged-out club kid Michael Alig), Mara Wilson (retired after Thomas and the Magic Railroad) and a young Dakota Fanning (think the urbane while also both precious and irritating, DF from Uptown Girls), and is complimented with a superb supporting cast, which includes Julie Andrews, Christina Barinski and others
* Scrooged. The Dickensian classic is revamped in this wicked-yet-sidesplitting reimagining, which also mocks the greed, excess and apathy of the '80s.
* Home Alone 2. My fave in the series, mostly cuz it takes place in New York. And who doesn't relate to Kevin and his family woes?

I bet that John Waters commentary track is a riot! I like Christmas Evil, I own a different DVD version of it - not nearly as cool as Silent Night, Deadly Night however - that's probably my favorite XMAS slasher of all-time.REPO Man wrote:John Waters did the commentary. Anywho...

Razor Blade Smile (1998)
Needed more gun fights, longer dream sequences, and would've benefited plenty from some actual nudity. Too many godawful day-for-night sequences....bleck - wretched, disorienting piss/10

Zarkorr! The Invader (1996)
Cool-lookin monster, and awesome cheesy effects. I wish there were more of 'em. Decently amusing overall - it made me chuckle a bunch of times. You pretty much know what you're getting when you watch this one.
Or at least you think you do, until you see this...

Reminds me of Dollman vs. Demonic Toys.

Aaaahh... that's better.

Just watched Alien again last night. An absolute classic, can't wait for Prometheus to come out.
I also recently watched Super 8, Source Code, Attack the Block, Warrior, Fright Night, 30 Minutes or Less, The Hangover II, Quarantine 2, REC 2, Fletch, Cowboys and Aliens, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Straw Dogs.
They were all really enjoyable, with the glaring exception of Cowboys and Aliens. I had trouble getting through it, and I really like all of the actors... the story was just plodding, and the aliens themselves were lame.

That's a piece of my childhood. My dad influenced this geek soooo much. Saw all the Universal Monster movies many times over. Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man and Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein are still my favorites.

I'm really hoping to see a screening, but if not, I'm sure one of my friends will and I'll be sure to give an update.Hobie-wan wrote:Well that gives me cautious optimism.Luke wrote:The trailer is out for PROMETHEUS, the Alien prequel. Go check it out. It's almost identical to the ALIEN trailer from 1979.
Just picked up BATMAN (1989) something or other special edition on Blu Ray. I still have the VHS somewhere around the house, and I'm hoping the Blu Ray has the intro commercials for Diet Coke and the Warner Bros. catalog. "You can't watch a Warner Bros. movie without a Warner Bros. ball cap".
