Shinobi 3D

I've been meaning to play Revenge of Shinobi for a while. The only two Shinobi games I've played are the PS2 game and the SMS original. I've played three if you count Alex Kidd in Shinobi World.

The thing about Shadow Dancer is that it's more of an arcade style game, not sure if that's your thing or not, but the arcade Shinobi games are just awesome. Shinobi III, Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi X are more console style games, each style of Shinobi games has their own charm though. Give Shadow Dancer (the Genesis remake is much better than the arcade game, a rarity) a run sometime. It's really damn good.

The one with all the crazy copyright infringement is Revenge of Shinobi, but be sure to play the original version (the first 1989 print) if you want to see all the funny bosses.

This is interesting to hear I guess, maybe I'd dig Shadow Dancer and the arcade games more. Revenge of Shinobi is the only older one before Shinobi III that I've played, and it's never really clicked with me. So yeah I should look into the others perhaps.

It's interesting seeing the negative response as the person who wrote that article seemed to enjoy the game. I'm curious about it if nothing else, but then again, I thought that Mega Man X iphone game that everyone bashed in another thread actually looked pretty cool

This game has had pretty decent reception on all the things I've read about it. Not wonderful, but definitely something I'm interested in trying for the right price.

I think the graphics for that game were okay. They're a little choppy though.

So for the Genesis Shinobi fans: Which is better? Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi III? I already own Revenge of Shinobi, but the only place around here that has Shinobi III want's $20 for it. Is it worth it?

Shinobi III is better in virtually every way, and yes, well worth $20. Can get it CIB on Amazon for half that though.

Personally I prefer the level design in Revenge of Shinobi to Shinobi 3, although 3 has a much nicer move diversity. I think I prefer RoS overall though.

Same here i realy like Revenge of Shinobi out of all the games in the serie.

I think Shinobi III is more action oriented and straight forward as I recall. It's my favorite of the Genesis Shinobi games. Plus, I find it annoying trying to get a copy of Revenge of Shinobi that has the original sprites for Spider-Man and Batman

Insane to think that those characters were actually in the game

This is one of my fave Shinobi III stages. I've heard people knock the soundtrack, but I love the music here
