Re: Favorite Mario Kart
The nostalgia is definitely there for SMK; however MK64 brought the multiplayer to a whole new level so it gets my vote!
Re: Favorite Mario Kart
It is a tough choice between the original and 64. I really like several aspects of the original, such as the coins and how they affect speed, and the lack of "boosting". Mario Kart 64 does bring a few good changes, such as four-player and real jumps and hills.

Re: Favorite Mario Kart
As the holder of 42 world records on it, I'm pretty much forcing myself to say MKDS. Never a better system of boosting before or since.

Re: Favorite Mario Kart
I hate Kart for Wii ,
I remember gamecube was fun, I especially like the bomb battles. But yesterday I played Mario Kart 64 for the first time as far as I can remember(if I did, last time would be like '98) and damn was it good, other than graphics being old...it was super fun, and I played alone!

Re: Favorite Mario Kart
Growing up, I've played the original Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 the most.
Personally, I find Mario Kart 64 my favourite. I agree with others who said it reached its peak with this one in the series. There were great shortcuts, the tracks are my favourites, it introduced 4 player modes and most importantly, unlike later games in the series, it neither featured ridiculously unfair weapons, nor did it feel too gimmicky.
Mario Karts these days have stupid weapons like the chomp chain that remove all skill and it all feels really gimmicky. I still have fun with the games on the Gamecube and Wii, but I preferred it when the games were simpler with less ridiculous weapons.

Re: Favorite Mario Kart
I voted for MKDS. The physics were perfect, the boosting system was ideal, the weapons weren't as crazy as in some of the others and the original tracks had some of the best designs in the series. The low point of the series for me was the wii versions, for the opposite reasons to the above
Re: Favorite Mario Kart
I voted for Double Dash but I just got Mario Kart 7 and I'm loving it.

For those of you with Mario Kart 7 who haven't seen this thread yet, please check it out. If we get enough people, maybe we can agree on a time to meet and play some community races.

Re: Favorite Mario Kart
Since I played MK64 the most it would be my favorite, followed by MK Double Dash. MK64 just give me a lot of good memories from being younger and playing that and Golden Eye with friends on the N64.
Re: Favorite Mario Kart
I really really really really want a yellow N64 controller.AznKhmerBoi wrote:mk64 mainly due to the smooth graphics and awesome controls. Alot of fun to play 4 player battle with those colorful n64 controllers... best mk in my oppinion.
PS: Love the yellow controller
But yeah, Mario Kart 64 all the way.
