One of my favorite quotes is Shaw's "youth is wasted on the young."
I also love that quote. If you ever go antiquing (and I pray to God you don't unless you enjoy it) you'll hear that phrase over and over and over. I always reply to that with Julius Marx's quote "You're only as old as the woman you feel". Like an episode of Fawlty Towers, that never gets old to me.
Surprised no one has mentioned the Beavis and Butthead games in this thread (to be honest I didn't read every page). The snes and Genesis versions were completely different, correct? If memory serves, the B&B games were similar to the EA sports games in the 90's: snes had better graphics and sound, but the Genesis games had smoother gameplay with no "slow down".
So you don't get the humor. *shrugs* That's all right. Not every form of humor is going to make everybody laugh. A lot of people seem to enjoy the 'embarrassment' type of humor that seems to be more and more prevalent these days, but I've never understood the draw of that either.
Personally, I never liked B&B. I just never found them funny. Still don't. Now Daria, that I enjoyed. I could watch those episodes all day.

Nor I. In fact, I really hate it. Awkward/embarrassed humor isn't my cup of tea. Zombieland was unwatchable.
Beavis and Butthead rock, btw. I NEED MORE TP FOR MY BUNGHOLE!
I like South Park
I like AVGN (for the most part, in small doses)
I generally like crude humor.
People like what they like and dislike what they don't. Although, I do get annoyed when friends seem to laugh at jokes they don't get in shows like Beavis and Butthead. That's what really irks me.
For the record, I hate most teenagers too. I tend to like adults. Maturity (in this case) isn't necessarily disliking certain shows but more about understanding what they are. A lot of kids these days don't seem too.
Most of the "modern" crude humor owes a lot to Beavis and Butthead because in the 90's there wasn't much else. They did dumb shit and got away with it. People thought it was hilarious back then and there was a bunch of controversy caused by it. The series never formally ended and the creator, Mike Judge, was busy with King of the Hill. Ironically enough, he goes back to where he first started and brings the series back. Man times have changed, but its nice that it is still the same.
Is it safe to say that everyone who said they like beavis and butthead was a guy with a penis?
Maybe it doesn't even necessarily have to do with maturity. It's all relative anyway, but I can understand how some things can be off-putting. I don't find "poop jokes" funny, whereas probably about 80% if not more of the male population would think they are. I can enjoy shows like south park and family guy, but if there's a "poop" or sex joke, depending on the situation, I usually can't find it in me to even crack a smile.

haha "crack" a smile.
...sorry, that probably wasn't even funny.
Definitely not true. My older sisters, all over 30 now, found it absolutely hilarious and still love it. One sister organized a walk-out at her school when her painting of Beavis and Butthead accidentally burning a Christmas tree with a menorah was taken down by the principal.
