Wii Sensor Bar: above or below? use the stand?

What is it with all 3rd party Sensor Bars only as cordless and having to deal with batteries?

i recall one being charged via usb. also you can use candles lol!

Yea not really convienant at all, because you have to actually turn it on or off physcially. That means if your on your sofa several feet away you will have to get up..walk to the tv and physically turn it on. Note the battery lifespan in the thing doesnt last too long either...

I use a wireless bar, and these are my main complaints!

I have mine on top, no room at the base. The top also gives a better signal, clear of any obstacles like the console on the table or my stinky feet propped up. I also use the Remote in the LEFT hand due to my HD CRT sitting to the left a little from where I sit.

Couldn't you move the bar to the right... or are you one of those folks that plays sports/instruments with your non dominant hand?

Even all the way to the Right on top of the TV, the sensor bar is still left a little from where I sit. The Remote works well left or right hand. I just have to angle it more in the right hand.

I find that placing it on the bottom of the screen makes it easy for me when I'm sitting (like in rail shooters, where I need to rest my elbows on the sofa's armrest), but in games where I have to stand (wii sports, pub darts, etc), I place the sensor on top.

I agree with this person. I sit about 8 feet away from my tele and I find that having the sensor bar at the bottom of my tv works best for first-person shooters so I'm not aiming upright and turning my wrist in unnatural/uncomfortable ways. So by having the sensor bar at the bottom I'm aiming closer towards the screen and my hands and arms can aim straight-ahead and/or rest on a pillow or on my knee if desired.

Also, when I have the bar at the bottom... I tell my Wii that it's on top of my tv in the system menu. *Shrug* Seems a little strange but it works great for me. Try it!

yea it doesn't really matter where it is, as long as the pointer does what you want/it should

My Kinect is above because it requires a larger distance. My PS Eye and Wii sensor are below because I can't put all 3 up top. Well, I COULD, but....

honestly i'm not even sure why a wireless bar should ever be needed. The cord on the wired one is really long.
