Wait wait say it ain't so! I just fondly remember the manual for Legend of The Mystical Ninja (available here as PDF) with such great enemies as "Tanaka-U-Out"!

Super mario brothers 2, seriously had no idea there was a point to the game until a couple of years ago when I found out...there really is no point

And for some reason Silkworm comes to mind, just because of the fact that the story is freakin great. haha
