DMG-01 Game Boy horizontal lines

I have an original Game Boy that has several horizontal lines of dead pixels. This is starting to effect actual game play and I need a solution, please.

As in an entire row of dead pixels or every game you test on your GB? This the old gray brick, the GB classic?

Sounds like a loose connection. I would suggest paying one of the forum members here to repair it, a repair site like NintendoRepairShop.com, or buying another GB off eBay.

If you want to try your hand at it, you have to open the GB up (special tri-wing screwdriver or screwdriver-bit required) and carefully inspect the connection yourself. Here's a blogger who tells you how. Not for ones with shaky hands as the ribbon connecting the motherboard to the LCD must be very frail by now. And you still have to test the horizontal connector to see if a little pressure in any of the 144 points remedies the dead line, then put something (like a wad of glue or epoxy) to apply pressure when you close the GB case.

That is a fix for vertical lines. Thought it might be a step in the right direction. Pakopako's post is probably more relevant though.
