As a PP member for 10 years, I would not worry about it. Of course, make sure the request is only coming from the URL https://www.paypal.com for they get a lot of phishing attacks.

Otherwise, if it's coming up on the actual site, there should be a "no thanks" or "cancel/continue" option. They always bug me for a bank account to be a "Verified" member, but unless your using the account for selling stuff on Ebay/online store, that status is unnecessary. I just have a credit card on file for buying things through PP online, and I would NOT trust them with a bank account or such information, seeing how badly they screwed up lately in the news. Plus, with a credit card, you have fraud & liability protection built in and you can dispute any charges and not be responsible -- not so much with a bank account.

DO NOT give you're bank account info. Refuse, they'll still keep you. I had my bank account hacked through PayPal. Then after it was discovered and I tried to shut down the account in order to open a new one, they made it incredibly difficult and frustrating. When I started a new PayPal account, I told them that I absolutely refuse to give them my account info due to their incompetence and their unwillingness to understand and help me when I tried to fix it. They then accepted my Visa Travel Card.

:) : Got my new video card in the mail.

:( : Turns out, it doesn't matter how great your video card is if you don't have much RAM. I'll have to wait for the extra RAM to arrive to enjoy my new card.

:D -I'm happy that Christmas is coming, and the nice cool air is awesome.

:( - I can't manage to find a good way to arrange my time. I can't find a decent balance between school, personal intrests, spending time with family and friends, and the eventual job I'll have to get within the next year or two. Bwaaa.

Ticked - As of 0900 this morning I am demoted and working for someone that was trained by someone I trained. This is fairly humiliating and if the VP doesnt make some changes after I talk to him tonight, well my time here will be ending soon. She stated that she is monitoring all phonecalls, emails, and even keystrokes, for if we are slacking off or "committing illegal activities." So my time on the site will be brief for the future (little does she know that I have a bit of a program that will just type random words on my desktop named the same as one of the documents we use daily). The worst part about all of this. One of my coworkers who hates my guts, is best friends with the new supervisor. So yeah. Merry Christmas 2011...

Smiled - My brothers family arrived last night, they were going to come in town on Friday night. And DSH is the man!

@fastbilly1

Where the hell do you work? Monitoring keystrokes? That sounds like an insane violation of privacy, I would have a hard time containing my anger if someone told me I was going to be scrutinized that degree.

Mildly Annoyed: I'm dealing with a strange and possibly sketchy person on craigslist. I put something up for sale on the site on Sunday and surprisingly heard from an interested buyer about 12 hours later. Communicating with this individual through email has been tiresome, his spelling and grammar are atrocious but sadly unsurprising given the education level of most people around these parts.

Here's the weird part: dude claims to live in the same city as me. When I suggested we meet up at the Wal-Mart shopping plaza he claimed he didn't know where it was located. Just to clarify, this is not a large city (we're talking Maine here) and the shopping plaza is located directly off the city's turnpike exit. It's essentially the "hub" of the city, if you need to do any shopping it's where you would think to go immediately. It's impossible to live here and not know where it is! I didn't know what else to do so I sent him directions and haven't heard back since. :? Hopefully I get another buyer because I don't see this working out.

I've been stiffed enough times on Craigslist to know that that buyer will not work out. I say it's 95 to 5 he doesn't show, or won't pay.

@BoringSupreez

I agree unfortunately. Still haven't heard back from this dude. Strange someone would initiate contact so quickly and then just drop it.

Buncha crap that is. Considering all the other bullshit you've mentioned, I'm surprised you haven't already moved on, unless you just hadn't found a replacement yet.
