I deleted it after I graduated college and moved out of the target audience. This was back when you needed to be in school to have an account. Then my mom got one, which gave me even less incentive to reactive.
The less you post, the less they know. I have my education, work, etc on there because I'm not hiding anything, but I understand if you don't want someone to know.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.
I have it mainly for music stuff. I find out about a lot of shows that I wouldn't have known about. Not many smaller venues keeps their calendars up to date and the smaller shows that are word of mouth are easier to find out about.
I don't really like facebook but it's better than driving 45 min into brooklyn just to pick up a "showpaper". I try to only keep people I actively talk to on my friends list and don't post any personal information.
the only reason i dont like timeline is because it lets people see photos of what i used to look like and read the dumb shit i used to write to people when i was in high school and stuff; just makes me look like an idiot.

dude when I was high school, AIM was considered hi tech. I graduated a few years before myspace even became an option. The good old days, for sure
