I use a wireless sensor bar, and I move it around all the time. I find that placing it on the bottom of the screen makes it easy for me when I'm sitting (like in rail shooters, where I need to rest my elbows on the sofa's armrest), but in games where I have to stand (wii sports, pub darts, etc), I place the sensor on top.

Mine is right below the screen of my Wega, meaning its directly in front of the television unit. Seems to work fine.

The funny thing is, only a couple of my Wii games actually use motion controls, the majority simply use the WiiMote as a wireless controller or have GameCube/classic controller compatibility.

Ive always wondered the same thing.
I have a 50 inch plasma and it is mounted about four feet off the ground and the sensor is on top (about 6.5 feet).
When I play sitting down I am too low... I think I will have to try the velcro idea.

After extensive tests, I decided to put the bar on top. With the bar on the bottom, the aiming felt significantly off when standing. Both locations are not completely accurate in aim. That is just how this system works. However, compensating for the aim felt more natural with the bar at the top.

I have mine on top, no room at the base. The top also gives a better signal, clear of any obstacles like the console on the table or my stinky feet propped up. I also use the Remote in the LEFT hand due to my HD CRT sitting to the left a little from where I sit.

What is it with all 3rd party Sensor Bars only as cordless and having to deal with batteries? :?

I don't have Wii Sports since I got the Mario Kart bundle, but I damn well would try to play it sitting down i'm sure!

Couldn't you move the bar to the right... or are you one of those folks that plays sports/instruments with your non dominant hand?

What you need to do is put the bar in the middle (tape it to the screen itself). The Wii is pretty primitive and not very well thought out from a design standpoint. I find the same thing about the bad aim no matter where the bar is set. The Super Scope as well as the Sega Menacer were much, MUCH more precise with their sensors and aim. The Wii is just not designed very well. It probably works great on the specific monitor size Nintendo tested it on and that is good enough.
