Snes question's about buying games

@brunoafh: Why'd you sell it if you already had the games? You didn't have to worry about buying them anymore...

I try to keep like a general money pool dedicated to games. I do a sweep of my collection every now and then and sell stuff that I'm not playing at all, that way I can keep tabs on how much I'm spending on games and not get out of control. No sense keeping games around I haven't touched in over a year, when I could sell em to somebody that will play them, and get a game with that money that I'll actually spend time with.

I have probably missed out on a lot of great games for the super nintendo but honestly I think I have had my fun with it. I think a lot of games I would like to have for the sake of having and not playing, which I know isn't right but it almost makes me want to pass my super nintendo on to someone who will appreciate it more than I can right now. I'd probably regret that in the long run and end up keeping the games and selling the system so I can come back to it at a later time. Whether the games are "overpriced" or justifiably expensive, either way most of the good ones are just too much. I really miss playing Adventures of Batman and Robin though. Wish my brother never would've gotten rid of that game

So, what are the "overpriced games"? I can find most games for dirt cheap, but they're not the best. I'm thinking Earthbound, though, for way overpriced, and I probably wouldn't pay normal price for SMRPG, SMW2, or FFIII. Other ones?

Castlevania Dracula X, Chrono Trigger, Megaman X3. That's about it...

Just for the record, when I said overpriced I just meant too expensive to warrant building up a collection from the ground up, value wise, unless SNES is your favorite console, or at least a top favorite. For the money you'll be spending on buying the most popular games (not that you have to get the popular ones, but let's say you happen to want a lot of the highly desired ones), you can get more bang for your buck with nearly every other retro console. But, none of that is to say you're not paying for quality with SNES stuff.

As for some other pricey and generally favored titles that haven't been mentioned: Mega Man X2, Mega Man 7, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, Demon's Crest, Hagane, Final Fight 3, Wild Guns, Super Metriod, and basically every RPG, are going to cost you a good chunk of change.

$20 is a lot more than NES, for example, but it's not unreasonable. I guess just like them enough to justify the price.

NGT aside, none of those break the $50 mark; you can even find SM under $20. All RPGs have already been mentioned.

Hagane, Wild Guns, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, and Mega Man 7 definitely break $50. The rest are between $20 and $30 or so.

Apart from the first three I just mentioned, it's still a lot cheaper than buying new games for a current console, which many people here do, or many imports or PC Engine games, for example.
