Why Haven't We Gotten a Remake of the OG Legend of Zelda?

Nintendo's current attempts at making each successive game innovative in some way isn't really a bad thing. I think they have done an excellent job of keeping the series fresh.
Because Nintendo has never officially released a US remake of the original some fans have attempted to do it themselves:

I found a modified version of BS-Zelda that plays okay on a SNES Powerpak.

Yeah, BS Zelda is a ROM and reproduction carts are available. It's quite good.

There is a Legend of Zelda on the GBA, but it's simply a direct port.

If it was remade, I would like to see it on the 3DS.

After watching some videos of this, it's actually rather buggy looking and kinda screams "fan-made".

Why doesn't someone just hack alttp or something if they want a Link's Awakening or Zelda 1 remake?

oh, derp. i've seen joy2key in a bajillion posts about using un-natively supported controllers...

I use an oXBox controller with a homemade usb dongle and this http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html#download ... ZeldaClassic recognizes everything except the d-pad and triggers. Playing LoZ with a thumbstick is dumb. Any shoe-in type info about joy2key that would help me get started with it?

Have they ever made any batches for the BS Zelda ALTTP sequel where it is a single ROM? I really want to play it, but I have no idea how to transfer the saves...
