I have a 52 inch TV on a TV stand. The Wii sensor bar is also on the TV stand. It's configured properly in the Wii settings and works just fine for me.

Yes, I am completely aware of the sensor bar settings and set them appropriately. All it appears to do is take a guess as to how far away the sensor bar is away from the centre of your TV screen and make the proper adjustments.

I was just curious if anyone else had found a position they felt was ideal.

Hopefully the Wii U operating system and all of its games will be motion plus enabled. I hate to see my daughter get frustrated because she has to aim the remote all around in random directions until the point appears on the screen before she can start to aim.

I like how Skyward Sword handles the pointer. It never completely leaves the screen. Even if you point the remote off to the side, the pointer is still somewhere on the screen related to the remote's orientation.

you'd think the wii would have more calibration options for that thing besides just 'above' and 'below'.

Why not options for tv size, aspect ratio, and average viewing distance?

I find that distance makes a huge difference. I am usually around five feet away. At that distance. if you stick your arm up, you are at the recommended minimum of three feet. The remote doesn't aim very well that close. If I were eight feet away, I'm sure I wouldn't notice it as much.

That mount shows exactly how retarded gaming has become.

Love this user review: "This magnificent contraption is perfect. I have always wanted to be able to mount WALL-E on my TV. A bit bulky but that's the price you pay for a trash collecting space robot. "

Mine's on top. I ended up adding the stand to make it less likely that the remote will get blocked by crumpled up blankets... They will not make me stand to play video games!!

I use a projector. I have to place my wireless bar about 1/3 of the distance to the screen, on a chair, below the screen. Aiming feels pretty unnatural, and it kind of kills the light-gun aspect of those sort of games. On the other hand, it does feel very "mouse-y" which is okay.
I saw an article or video maybe of a person using projector headlight lenses to project IR dots directly onto their screen for the Wii. I also plan to try placing my bar BEHIND my screen (white spandex) once I am set up in our new place.

I have always had my original sensor bar stuck to the top of my 26" Vizio lcd. I bought the wireless sensor bar at gamestop, and even though it sensed my wii remote from a farther distance, it ate batteries too fast for my liking. I have currently been using the original bar.
