When playing carts on my CDX, I get a couple different graphical issues that pop up at times. First, I get these occassional waves of distortion on the screen. The other is that when I turn it on sometimes, everything is reddish pink, so the hue or color is off. If I turn it off and back on, it will usually clear up the coloring issue.
These issues are not present when playing the cd portion of the console, only the cartridge. I showed Hobie this as well, and he confirmed his CDX wasnt doing this.
Could this be interference issues? Bad capacitors? I would like to fix it if possible.

Underpowered? What adapter are you using? The x eye and cdx need 9 or 10 v 1.5a. I bet you're using the Genesis 2 brick.

You know, mine is doing that too now that you mention it....
Re: Weird video issues on my CDX
That does sound like a typical symptom for bad capacitors. I found a link detailing capacitor replacement on the RGB lines. Those caps regulate the lines that go into the encoder that gives you composite, so it's likely that this will help your system.
Unfortunately, those surface mount caps are a pain to swap. You need two fine soldering pensils applied to both sides at the same time. Use them like tweezers on the cap, wait a sec, and then try to lift it off the board. Hopefully both sides have melted and it will come cleanly off the board. If you use a tantalum capacitor, you'll never have to do this again.

Re: Weird video issues on my CDX
Ah ya I had a feeling it might be the caps. The ac adapter I am using is the official cdx supply that comes with it. After some extensive cleaning of a few carts and the slot, I got rid of some of the picture issues but the pink or green still happens occasionally...
