Saturn game doesn't work after resurface

Post by vlame »

Batman forever the arcade Game, I had this a while then realized what it was worth then got it resurfaced to make shine.

It looked somewhat better but now the game won't boot. I am using a Japanese Saturn with a PAR+ which boots my other USA game fine.

When the game doesn't boot it says ??SEGA SATURN CD ???????. Then I hear the laser try to read it again and shows 2 tracks, the first ones plays and I hear "Hrmm the time! TELL ME THE TIME!" and the 2nd is 3 seconds of silence, if i put the game in without the PAR+ it shows as a disc with 700+ minutes of music.

If the system it is being played on is good, sounds like the disc might be toast. Put it in a PC and run a disc scan on it and see if it returns with a bunch of problematic or damaged sectors.

Resufacing a disc may cause it to no longer work. That's why I use it as a last resort.

That's my policy too!

Plus, I only take a non-working disc to a friend of mine for resurfacing. He knows and cares about what he's doing.

If you have Nero, yeah. I use the CD-DVD speed and then the 'scan disc' tab.

Bad sectors. I'd say it is toast. :(
