Couldnt you just cut a Game Genie to fit and use it as a passthrough? I know it worked for the N64 for loading Japanese Carts on a US system.

You could but as GameMasterGuy said, you can't play games that use expansion chips on it. I think StarFox might be an exception to this however.

Yeah I know, flame me away, but it was dirt cheap and I think SNES games actually look great combined with a Super Fami. I've always liked the look of the Super Fami too and the fact that it uses the same power supply as the original Famicom and model 1 Genesis helps. As long as you don't go nuts on it, the looks of the system aren't compromised.

However, I won't do it again as it's actually a bitch to mod the cart slot, much harder than a Genesis.
Excuse my semi-noobish comment, but how exactly did you go about doing that? I've heard of how to mod a US Super Nintendo to play Fami games, but what exactly did you do to the Super Famicom to get it to play SNES games?

Don't worry about it being semi-noobish, I've never seen a tutorial on how to mod the cart slot either so I had to make do with everything in front of me.

Anyway, the top half of the Super Famicom is made up of several pieces, much like the top shell of an SNES. There are two parts you have to trim in order to get SNES games to fit, one is the large gray piece and the other is the top shell itself. The gray piece is easy to trim and it's much like modding a Genesis to fit Japanese games. Then you have the cart slot itself, which is molded with the top shell. This is the hardest part and it involves filing the cart slot to make it slightly wider and cutting the inner sides of the cart slot to accomodate the wider SNES carts.
