This game...

I have no idea if this looks good or terrible.

The Fatal Frame games are the scariest to me. It's more supernatural, haunting, and not about the cheap jump scares, and you don't have real weapons. The torturous descriptions of some of the events in the games and the like are incredibly disturbing. Awesome series.

Other than that hardly any games out there really scare me. Although I remember playing Silent Hill 2 alone in my basement years ago at our old place with headphones, yeah I had to turn the lights on after awhile.

This was an awesome thread we had awhile back on the subject:

the first is point and click, and was never released outside of JPN.

But I meant get the first US game, which is technically CT2, but in the US it's just called Clock Tower (PS1).

And no, they're not all PnC games. CT3 on PS2 is a lot closer to a RE style of gameplay.

Ack wrote:I would say probably Echo Night: Beyond has been my favorite, not because its really scary (it's not nearly as nail-biting as some of what I've played), but because it presented an atmosphere to me that was both haunting and yet relaxed at the same time. I've often described it as the most mellow survival horror I've ever played, and I'll stand by this claim. It's different, but in a good way; it manages to set itself apart from the crowd in a genre typically referred to as full of "Resident Evil clones." So I praise it highly and will continue to do so.
Ah yes, this was very good.

Wish I still had it. :(

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

A few others worth mentioning:

Blue Stinger (on DC)
Carrier (an RE clone if there was one, on DC)
Alone in the Dark One Eyed Jack's Revenge (This game sucks so bad it's funny)
The Suffering 1 and 2
The Calling (On Wii - haven't tried it)
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

I enjoy Corpse Killer. Not a true survival horror but it's probably the best/worst zombie game I've ever played. :)

If you like games that suck so much it hurts, check out The Ring: Terror's Realm on the Dreamcast. It hurt so bad, I cried.
