trolling, FTW.
Re: Question about wii vc data movement
It is much better than the Wii Shop. Games are not limited to one console with no real way to transfer them if needed (ie. if your Wii breaks down). You are limited to 5 Sony consoles for each download, but you can always deactivate a console to free up one of your 5 slots (a pain if you have thrown out a broken console, but I think you can still deactivate it be calling Sony).noiseredux wrote:suddenly PSN doesn't sound so bad, huh folks?dsheinem wrote:Nintendo almost always gets a pass., unfortunately.Breetai wrote:I am really not sure why gamers did not make a bigger deal over this.
Sony's system for managing downloaded items works well. Microsoft's works well. Nintendo's is just.... terrible.
Yes, I realize you are trolling a bit in that last comment... but it IS valid when comparing online services.

actually Bretai, Sony changed it so you're now limited to 2 PSP's and 2 PS3's. This only applies to stuff you buy now. Stuff you bought before then is still good for 5 consoles. But hey, I own 2 PS3's and a PSP. So it's still plenty of sharing for me.

Sometimes I forget how deeply piracy is ingrained in the retro gaming culture. Then racketboy reminds me.

You can call Nintendo and have them transfer your licenses to the new Wii.

is this new? do you have some proof of this?Zing wrote:You can call Nintendo and have them transfer your licenses to the new Wii.
Re: Question about wii vc data movement
I don't think it's that easy. When I called them over the summer and was considering getting a new console they were like "It's possible that we may be able to transfer your purchases to the new console. I could submit a request to my higher ups for review." They could see I bought them. They were all linked to my Club Nintendo account. She read me off the list.Zing wrote:You can call Nintendo and have them transfer your licenses to the new Wii.
When I sent my console in for repairs/replacement they moved the VC games over. I usually have really good experiences with Nintendo CS, but their downloadable policy is absurd.

As usual, DRM does nothing to stop copyright infringement. The only thing it does is punish legitimate customers, and dissuade potential customers such as myself from supporting it. When will Nintendo learn?

isn't Nintendo's policy the same with DS and 3DS? You're supporting those platforms.Inazuma wrote:As usual, DRM does nothing to stop copyright infringement.
